About The Empire
The Empire was the second fully instrumental album I composed using FL Studio. I worked on the LP during my time in Germany. Finally, I released it a month after Y album.
As a result of the music production learning period I had back then: this chill album also contains lots of experimental chill beats. The main genre elements I used during the construction of this album are chill, beats, dance and oriental.
Definitely a chaotic mix.
As part of The Empire I finally had my first sad chill beats ‘Sad Day‘. I also added many experimental chill beats such as ‘Improvised Butterfly Tattoo‘. Lastly, I even composed a couple of dance/electro chill beats like ‘Maybe ‘no’ for STORM‘ and ‘Disorder in Rest-Around‘.
And when I finally believed, this is just enough for one album – I finished ‘Lazy Japanese Cats’. A song so happy and chill in the meantime. In short I learnt later these songs usually deserve different albums and EPs.
Still probably this chaotic setup and the fact that I was more sure in myself compare to Y; or simply because I was opening my Myspace page in parallel, but I love this album. Even after 10+ years I am considering making a remix of the songs. I was inspired by Japanese culture greatly during the production. I wished to compose beats to show people certain moods: chill, ambient, dance – even industrial.
