stage selection from rock 128 chiptune album

Click on the cover to grab Stage Selection chiptune single. It is my latest beat from Rock 128 8-bit album that has been inspired by Mega Man retro video game. I produced the album on a single pocket synthesizer, called PO-128. The PO-128 or Pocket Operator 128 Mega Man edition is a limited pocket instrument produced by Teenage Engineering. Please read the linked article above to deep-dive the benefits of this tool.

About the production of Stage Selection

Stage Selection is one of the songs that I have recorded during the production. As you can see in the video, it was indeed fully produced on a single micro-tool. I recorded every sound as is with my Tascam microphone via line-in. I only played with EQs and added a slight reverb to make it sound dope.

    Space Man (demo)

Another song is part of Stage Selection demo. This is the demo or first record version of Space Man that I have released on Rock 128 chiptune album. I recorded both beats live and made both videos available for you today.

The same goes for this song as the single title beat: it was recorded with the help of PO-128. I was eager to learn the use of this synthesizer so I started working on an album. During the production I learnt how to glide and use vibrate that are the key special effects of this tool. Furthermore I understood the differences compare to the PO-33, which is more a sampler. Even though both share the same layout, one must learn how to use them.

  • [Single] Industrial Man

Industrial Man is a free single, part of Rock 128 chiptune album released in early April. The song was inspired by the famous Mega Man game series. A retro video game released by Capcom many years before on Game Boy and other video game consoles.

    Industrial Man from Rock 128

Listen to Industrial Man song on Spotify hitting the play button above. I appreciate any listens and shares so I can push my music to more people.

The songs was recorded using PO-128 pocket synthesizer only. This battery fuelled gadget is pretty similar to PO-28 Robot. Check my article to learn more about it. I used some effects to spice the industrial vibe through-out the song. As a result of being fan of Mega Man since kid, I named the beats almost like bosses. Of course with full respect toward the original creators.

Industrial Man was one of the first songs among the ones I finished. Therefore it is free for any fans. If you wish to grab this song. Click on the cover. You can download the song for free on my Bandcamp page. Follow the page for more beats. Who knows, I might even share some more 8-bit songs in the near future.

  • [Album #21] Rock 128

Rock 128 is my latest release marking the 21st album of Latte Chill project. Similarly to Soul Silver, Rock 128 is different from the rest of the releases. It offers real retro video game vibe. That means you are to listen less chill here and more upbeat songs. It is an 8-bit album, almost 30 minute long influenced by the old Mega Man games.

Listen to my chiptune release above by hitting the play button. I hope you have Spotify. In case you are into different stream providers, check availability here. Even though I do my best along with Distrokid to distribute my music everywhere. Still, if I missed any, drop me a comment please and I will see what I can do.

Now this is an utterly new release so not much I can share with you. But there is a strong focus on the ‘yet’ part. I am about to release some live records soon. Similar to this one.

To be honest, I hope to share better ones. Truth to be told, the reason why I shared this video first was the fact that this one is the first song on Rock 128. I have a few with better angles, but I started composing this album when I was away. And I only brought my synthesizer and a phone. Anyways, keep following my channels and you will see the rest coming pretty soon.
