About Dozens
Even though Dozens marks the 12th anniversary of Latte Chill project, it mainly features beats starting 2016.
The reason behind is that originally my solo project was the side activity next to my bands such as T21CB or Dark Cherry. It was therefore pretty hectic from genre perspective, let it be the electronic music oriented Raw Disco Unit or the experimental oriental album, Dragonic Eve.
When I decided to restart as Latte Chill, I needed to properly close the previous era. It was done with two major best of releases, Desired Decade I. and Desired Decade II. The first covered the electronic music part, whereas the second the chill-out beats of the first ten years.
After finishing it, I had one of my most active years during 2017 to 2019 releasing more than 7 albums and 18 EPs.
So Dozens is more chill
Now Dozens mark the 12th year anniversary along with the best of collection for that 25 releases. Genre-wise it is more aligned: chill music, chill-out, nature chill, space ambient and some electronic beats. I guess it is similar to the beginning but the portions became different.
One more thing that makes Dozens special: Dozens version beats. I added bunch of songs that has a new version. I found some songs different from the majority.
Instead of changing the EQs, I decided to rework them for this album. It means beats to change or even the instruments used. I loved this time. It was tough as the songs were relatively new. But at the end it offered a refreshed aura for the beats as well.
Finally, I released it in 2019 (I started my project in 2007). I also put together a giga YouTube video with almost 2 hours of beats unstopped. It was also shared as one album on Bandcamp. On Distrokid however the limit is 35 songs. So, instead of ditching one, I split it into 3. 12 chill-out albums, evenly split. You can listen to the first album on the top of the page. As this cover photo means a lot for me, I though I would share my story. This photo was taken in the biggest city of the world. I shot it in Tokyo in 2019. It was an amazing journey with my wife to the Far East. We created tons of photos and videos. Many of them will be used for future covers. Check some mood videos below:
