  • Top 10 lofi playlists that may inspire you

In this article, I have compiled a list of 10 examples of lofi music playlists to inspire you. Get inspired by these amazing playlists! Scroll for lofi chill beats.

    Before we start.

Lofi is an abbreviation for lo-fi, which means low fidelity. Lofi music is often characterised by its use of simple instruments and “plain” sounds, such as (acoustic) guitar, drums, and piano, maybe pads. It’s also known for its minimalist sound design and unique production techniques.

On top of that I always love to add a hint of imperfection. I have written more about it in my Wabi-Sabi article. As a result of the vinyl origins and the wish to make this genre more human, artists are tending to leave some mistakes among the tracks. It can be one misaligned drum piece or a cracking noise.

    Top 10 lofi playlists

    1) Top 10 Coffee Break Beats by Latte Chill
Because we all drink a coffee or tee right? The best to do it with some lofi instrumental beats.

    2) Nature Chill on the First Floor
One of my fave genre. This playlist is an actual set during the lock-down. That means, I recorded it on our balcony.

    3) Top 10 Home Office Chill Beats
After the lock-down, we all got more chances for working from home. My set of home office chill beats are to boost focus time of the listeners.

    4) Lofi Night
One of my fave among the lofi playlists I work on. Fully inspired by the chill of the nights and lo-fi instrumental beats.

    5) Sakura Beat
Oriental beats coming up. I love spinning these playlists between March and June. Obviously when we have sakura season. Sakura means cherry blossom, it marks the reborn of nature.

5 more playlist ideas for you

    6) Year of the Tiger Mix ’22 (Chill edition)
Coming with a new lo-fi playlist every year. All are based on the characteristics of the annual Chinese zodiac. Fun to mix them.

    7) Chill Mixtery #5
It is a piece of history from Latte Chill. I usually release one playlist after 5 albums or 10 EPs. I mix these live on my YouTube channel and later share them here as well. This way I am maximising my reach and hope that fans will listen to my releases based on the songs.

    8) Exotica Mix
Summer kind of instrumental beats. Mainly happy vibe to boost mood. Also good for walking in the city.

    9) Autumn Set 2020
A bit sad lofi. This playlist is focusing on ending the summer. As a result it offers a bittersweet vibe. I cannot say it is fully sad chill as I have a different playlist for that. I would say this mix fits a rainy day.

    10) Sad Moments
Last but not least: sad chill. Important and great type of lofi playlists. But be careful not to bring the listeners to down.

  • 4 Steps to Building a Great Spotify Playlist

    spotify playlist

You’ve probably heard about Spotify playlist before, but have you ever wondered what they’re really like? In this article, we’ll explain everything you need to know about them.

    Create a Spotify Playlist

If it is possible, do it on a PC or laptop, you will be able to choose the songs much faster. To start creating a playlist, open your Spotify and click on “Create new playlist”. You can find it in the top right corner of the screen. Then choose a name for your playlist and add as many songs as you’d like. I would suggest you to try and look for a unique name that gives your playlist a twist, but also use some words that reflects on the genre, to make it easily searchable. So, in my case that would be “lo-fi” or “chill” and something unique. If you want to remove a song, just hover over it and press the X button.

Try to build your Spotify Playlist with music from artists you love

If you’re looking to make a playlist that will be followed, it is worth adding what you love. So head off to your fave artists and find your fave songs to add.

First, choose an artist you enjoy listening to. Then, click on the Browse tab at the top left corner of the Spotify app and select Artists. Then, scroll through the list until you find an artist you’d like to add to your playlist. Finally, click on the Add button next to the artist’s name to add them to your playlist.

Of course if you had all of them in your head already, you can add them like explained in the first article. I only wished to show you another way to populate your Spotify Playlist.

    Listen to it!

Once you’ve made your playlist, you can start sharing it by clicking on the Share button at top right corner of the Spotify app.

    But!

I would daresay give it some time. Listen to it over and over again. Similarly to artists, who tend to listen to their beats after the demo, then after mixing. Finally, once the master is ready, they keep listening to a few days in order to make sure everything is in it. It is worth giving time for Spotify Playlists.

    Share it with friends

Once you are happy with your playlist, share it. Early adopters are very important and hopefully you have a bunch of good mates on Discord, Facebook etc, you can share your playlist with. Ask them to give you honest review. This way they will listen to your fresh Spotify Playlist that boosts your performance.

If you want to share your playlist with others, click on the Share button at the top right corner of the screen. In the new window that pops up you can choose who you’d like to share your playlist with. You can also add tags to help people find your playlist.

My 6 album choice for the anniversary mix

Similarly to the first part of the anniversary mix, I started with Travellers album. Being one of my most recent album, I have founded many beats I wish to share with you. Similarly to that, Sapphire also has a song on the mix. Apart from them the “ultras” – Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are present. Both feature new songs and remakes from Moon album. All produced with the super budget sampler PO-33 KO. Above the listed ones Wabi-Sabi, a Far East inspired lo-fi LP and the sad chill album Café Yami nominated some songs.

Each release has its story, so I linked them here for you. Click on the interesting ones and read about them.

7 more EPs supporting the anniversary mix

Starting with Turtle Island. The nature chill-out EP produced on Koala Sampler app. Great little application for your smartphone. Check ‘Starfish’ if you are interested. Southern Vibes is another nature chill beat release with guitar collabs. Some space chill songs were also added including Bebop I. and Bebop II.

What else? Some experimental songs remained. I find them interesting and matching the vibe of this mix. Listen to them and let me know if you liked them. First notable mention: BR.Exit. ‘Impossible Condition’ is right at the beginning of the mix. Inspired by real world politics this time. Well, we were all surprised back then. Check BR.Exit if you are into heavy electric chill sketches. Second, Scars. This EP was published in 2011 with vocals. Later in 2020 I reworked it to match them with Latte Chill vibe.

Finally, Urban Lo-fi. Back in 2021 I was experimenting with lofi house as genre. I produced some sketches and published as an EP. All songs are inspired by different cities I travelled to. I also wished to add some covers with the photos I took. As a result I decided to make them free. So I can play with covers as well. If you click on the link above, you may find some dope covers by me.

Thanks for reading the story of this mix. Scroll for the free beats one more.
