About Café Tokyo
Café Tokyo is my first EP for 2022 with 5 new lo-fi beats inspired by my past trip to Tokyo. From production perspective Café Tokyo was born on PO-33 with the support of Koala Sampler. Both instruments are rather new to me. I started working with the duo, while producing Turtle Island. At the end it turned out that I can do even better.
What does it mean in action? During the production of Café Tokyo I used Samurai update of Koala Sampler. It helped me making a better workflow between the two gadgets. As a result, I have less live records, obviously. I mean I use my smartphone to record them. But in this case it was in use as well. Hopefully the audio result will make it up for you.
Café Tokyo – visual ID of the EP
As we cover audio versus the images: I wanted to make it fully unique and personalised to my taste. Therefore I used my own photos for the cover of the EP as well as the singles. Even though I was in Tokyo in 2019 – I still had tons of photos unused in my pocket.
I also decided to create an old Polaroidish photo frames to offer a kind of travel vibe to the listener. Furthermore, I plan to release some videos using stock materials this time boosting the vibe I wish to feature as prt of the EP. Keep following this page or my YouTube channel for more.
