  • [Single] Monster

Monster is the 11th lofi single from upcoming album ‘Cherryland‘. While it will be 10th of October, when the album will be largely available, the story behind is more than 15 years old.

    About Cherryland and Dark Cherry

Dark Cherry was my band along with 4 mates. We performed live between 2008 and 2010, while originally started the band 15 years before in 2007. Since then a couple of EPs and singles were released until 2011.

In 2020 I started a project with Darkest Cherry, aiming to cover these songs occasionally.

    What makes Monster special?

Simply, it was our first and most played song. A pretty raw metal song. That created me quite a challenge to cover it in lofi chill music. On the other hand, it became kind of a love project. I hope you will enjoy the minimalism spiced with some hip-hop beats.

Hit play on top if you like the beat and feel free to download the song for free.

Let me link the original Monster here as well. Just to offer you a comparison between the original and the lofi edition.

And keep waiting a bit more. Pre-save Cherryland. More to come very soon.

  • [Single] Hopeless Romantic

    Hopeless Romantic

With Hopeless Romantic live I can confirm now: new album is about to come. The album will feature 12 Dark Cherry songs covered in lofi genre. More information is coming soon.

    About Hopeless Romantic

This song was one of the first songs ever released with the band back in 2008. The song was a mix of hard rock vibe and electric arps, making our performance pretty dope. #M single features it if you wish to hear the original version as well.

Along with Memoire, it was one of our most performed songs on the setlist, therefore it was just essential to work on a cover beat. As usual, the whole concept is to convert a rock song into a lofi one. Vocal to an instrumental beat. I can’t say it will be always ultra slow. Some have an essence of tempo that requires a minimum middle speed song. But I guess Hopeless Romantic found the balance pretty well.

The song is free of charges. Click on the cover and get it for free. Check my Bandcamp page or my website for more free singles.

The cover was shot by me during sakura (cherry blossom) this year. I edited it in Snapseed, keeping it as lofi and minimal as the song itself.

  • [Single] Jekyll & Hyde

    Jekyll & Hyde

New single: Jekyll & Hyde inspired by the classic novel from the 19th century. Being an older (and noble?) story, let me go into more experimental with organs and orchestra instruments in this beat. Of course it stays within the boundaries of lofi, still offering a more massive sound design.

Hit play button below and enjoy the song. Don’t forget, this song, like most of my singles are free to grab. Click through to my Bandcamp page and enjoy the beats. Also look for older and more lofi singles over there.

    Fun Facts

It is also a Dark Cherry song, but this one was left in the studio. It means it was never performed live, we cease to work as a band while working on this song. Any many other…

The cover photo was taken in Vienna by Hofburg this year in a rainy day.

Even though Jigsaw was not part of the band this time, he still learnt this song to help us train and fine tune it.

Lastly, to be honest, I cannot recall who wrote the lyrics. Most likely Kyoki, our bassist but it might have been me as well. I wonder. Really… anyways, I hope to work on this song one day with vocals as well. A powerful song.
