  • [Single] Ukiyo

    latte chill ukiyo

Ukiyo, the single of Sakura Sketches 2, represents the joy of the moment. The title itself means “floating world”, referring to a Japanese philosophy highlighting the importance of the moment. The moment you are in right now. This very moment that is about to fleet away. It is your choice to be present or miss it forever. We could say “carpe diem”, as in the European literature meaning something similar: live for today. Live for the moment.

I believe in a way, cherry blossom represents a moment of ukiyo. While walking under the cherry trees, enjoying the petals dancing around you in the gentle breeze. A moment you enjoy being there and may never have the same way again. Also, it is the moment we are to forget all our troubles and really enjoy that particular walk. It could be the same while sitting outside, sipping your fave coffee on a sunny day. No rush. No hassle. Pure joy of the drink. I hope Ukiyo single gives you that moment. Give it a spin by clicking on the song below. If you liked it, you may download it through the cover on top (click on the cover image). As always, thanks for listening to my beats.

  • [Single] Yozakura

Yozakura single is a chill vibe, sakura-inspired beat that marks the beginning of the cherry blossom season and, in a way, the rebirth of nature. Originally, the single was released as part of Sakura Sketches 2.

The single, as the cover suggests, offers a laid-back beat. A bit of warmth, sunlight is hidden among the pads and chords.

Hit play to enjoy the spring vibe. The song is free to listen to on YouTube as well as on my Bandcamp page (click on the cover). So, any listeners are more than welcome. Let us all embrace the sun and spring. The title ‘Yozakura’ itself refers to nighttime cherry blossom watching. This is why my cover features a sunset vibe photo. In Europe, we do not really have lantern-lit cherry trees; therefore, a night photo may not have brought that warm vibe we all feel these days.

As for the song itself, I used Koala Sampler and some dope samples. I added my own melodies, textures, and layered them in a way that brings us the mood.

  • [Single] Shiwasu

    shiwasu single Latte Chill

As my last for 2025, it will be titled Shiwasu. In Japan’s traditional calendar, Shiwasu (師走) refers to December as the “Busy Month.” Traditionally, even monks and teachers were said to run through the streets as the year rushed toward its end. Despite this sense of movement, December also carries a deep, reflective stillness – a moment to look back before starting anew.

My new lofi single tries to capture this contrast: quiet motion, inner restlessness, and the calm that follows a long year.

Crafting Shiwasu with the PO-33 KO

Produced with the PO-33 KO, the song blends soft melodies, muted beats, and cold yet comforting textures. The sound design balances gentle momentum with spacious pauses, reflecting December’s dual nature – busy days and silent nights.

The track is designed for late evenings, end-of-year reflections, and moments when time feels both fast and suspended.

    The B-Side: Yuutsu na

Accompanying the main single is the B-side Yuutsu na (憂鬱な), meaning “melancholic.” The track leans deeper into introspection, embracing slower tempos, minimal elements, and a heavier emotional tone.

Where Shiwasu reflects motion and closure, Yuutsu na explores the quiet melancholy often felt at the end of the year – not sadness, but thoughtful stillness and emotional depth.

Together, the two tracks form a contemplative closing chapter to the seasonal journey.

    Completing the Seasonal Cycle

With Shiwasu, the lofi calendar project (aka Toshi) reaches its conclusion. From the blossoms of Uzuki to December’s reflective calm, each release has traced the changing seasons through sound, tradition, and atmosphere.

This final entry brings resolution – a pause before the cycle begins again.
