  • [Single] Be Water

    be water

Be Water is the first song ever I produced with Koala Sampler with the aim to look for an optional on the go music app.

It means a lot of stuff to me.

First, that after several years of break, I restarted using my smartphone as a music production tool. As I can create dope photos but even cut complete videos (recorded on the same phone), it is high time to be able to jam as well, right?

For many years to my point of view this area of application development had two issues. Companies did not care about it, or iOS only (no offense, not my taste).

At the end, I left this dream of mine… until 2021!

Essentially, as many of the great ideas, this came to my in the bathroom and started the jam in the bathtub. Hence the title, I even sampled the flow of the water.

I immediately thought, that I need to run a longer experiment. This will be Demon Festival. A pack of Koala Sampler beats with the aim to learn and understand the application.

Of course the songs are fully free. Grab them all below through the link or by clicking on the cover.

  • [Single] Stray Cats’ Waltz

Stray Cats' Waltz - Latte Chill

Third single from Cherryland – a Dark Cherry lofi cover compilation.
Stray Cats’ Waltz is a song that was performed many times in 2010.

What can I say about this song. I have so much. As for the title, it was the actual working title of the song (later known as ‘Holdkeringő’ which stands for Moon Waltz in Hungarian).

Kyoki, the original author gave it and I liked this title so much to use it while working on the cover.

The lyrics where written by me. It is vaguely about Romeo and Juliet of Shakespeare. On top of that I even sing some words in archaic way to make it sound old as a song.

This song was recorded in studio and was released on our second studio single as a B-side song. We performed it in several towns and on several gigs despite its classical vibe.

Fun fact maybe that the drums are mixing rhythm at the end between 3/4 and 4/4 if I recall it well. It took weeks for Cay to practice so that he can play the changes while listening to the 4/4 metronome that helps him keeping the tempo.

  • [Single] Ode to a Bonsai

    ode to a bonsai

Last single of Pagoda EP, an oriental chill vibe beats release. Ode to a Bonsai is a meditative song featuring koto and shamisen.

The sakura (cherry blossom) themed East Asian chill beats with oriental vibe from Pagoda EP is going to be released soon. Keep following my channels and do not miss my new songs. Any comments and reviews are more than welcome.

As this song is inspired by my actual travels to the Far East, I hope you will also enjoy the audio trip with me. I spent quite some time to look for the right soundfonts and instrument samples. I mean obviously I cannot play instruments like koto and shamisen. Sadly. So, I decided to investigate it the much I can and work hard on offering an authentic vibe. As a result I listened to Japanese folk songs before working on Pagoda songs. I even owned bonsais, while working on Ode to a Bonsai.

Did you like the song? Let me know! Send me your comments on Twitter or YouTube. Any review are more than welcome, I will built them in into my upcoming beats, let it be melody, mixing or something else.
