Satsuki: A Lofi Tribute to Early Summer

As May unfolds into early summer, the Japanese traditional calendar calls this month Satsuki (皐月) – the “Month of the Irises.” Or “Early Summer Month”. With the air finally growing warmer and nature flourishing, my latest lofi single, Satsuki, embodies this transition with ethereal melodies and warm textures.

    Crafting the Essence of Satsuki

Using my PO-33 KO, I sought to capture the delicate balance between spring’s final whispers and summer’s gentle arrival. The melody is woven with nostalgic elements, echoing the themes of past singles like Yayoi and Uzuki, yet introducing brighter tonal shifts for the season.

    A Personal Reflection

As with previous releases, the cover art features a photo from my travels in Japan, enhancing the music’s connection to the cultural roots that inspire it. The soundscapes invite listeners to reflect, unwind, and embrace early summer’s warmth. In fact, I was in Japan in April back then in 2019. Therefore, might not be the most accurate photo, but still close to my point of view.

Satsuki is now available for free download on Bandcamp. Whether you’re seeking a calming soundtrack for your day or embracing seasonal inspiration, this track offers a soothing escape. If you give it a spin, let me know if you liked it. Any shares are more than welcome.

Introducing Uzuki: A Lofi Ode to Spring

Let me start the month with a serene lofi single, Uzuki, celebrating the arrival of spring in its full bloom. The title, “Month of Rabbit” or “Month of Deutzia,” is the traditional Japanese name for April. Following the themes of the previous singles, this track embodies the gentle vibrance of springtime through a meticulously crafted instrumental beat.

Behind the Creation of Uzuki and Kiki-Gouro

As part of the ongoing exploration of traditional Japanese months, Uzuki reflects the renewal and blossoming of life after winter. The single carries a tranquil yet lively atmosphere, blending oriental vibes with lofi chill. Using the PO-33 KO, I introduce a soothing fusion of melodies and hip-hop textures that embrace the essence of spring.

This release also features a B-side track, Kiki-Gouro, which complements Uzuki with its moodier and introspective vibe. Both songs encapsulate the artist’s ability to balance depth and serenity, offering a refreshing musical escape.

    Production Notes

Inspired by personal experiences and the beauty of nature, Uzuki combines nostalgic elements from the earlier Wabi-Sabi LP with refined layers of sound. The mastering process imbues the track with an uplifting warmth perfect for this time of year. As always, I feature a cover image—a photo captured during travels in Japan—adding a personal touch to the visual storytelling of the single.

    Where to Listen and Download

Uzuki, along with its B-side track Kiki-Gouro, is available for free download on Bandcamp. Whether you’re relaxing, focusing, or welcoming the arrival of spring, this single provides a perfect soundtrack for your daily life.

  • [Single] Yayoi

    yayoi lofi po-33 single

Spring is here, and with it comes the latest lofi chill beat from Latte Chill—Yayoi. Named after the traditional Japanese month for March, “Yayoi” (弥生) reflects the blossoming essence of spring through a soothing instrumental composition. Carefully crafted with PO-33 KO, this track delivers a tranquil atmosphere paired with oriental vibes to match the serene transition of the season.

    What Is Yayoi?

It means “New Growth,” symbolizes March’s arrival as winter retreats and flowers begin to bloom. Inspired by this sentiment, I created a beat that blends gentle melodies and hip-hop textures to evoke the beauty and optimism of springtime.

    Behind the Production of Yayoi

Using the PO-33 KO and an oriental vibe in mind, I continue to experiment and refine my signature style of lofi beats. Drawing from sound elements that previously shaped the nostalgic Wabi-Sabi LP, Yayoi carries a touch of familiarity while introducing a fresh energy for the season. The mastering process adds enhanced depth, ensuring the track delivers a cozy yet vibrant listening experience.

    A Personal Connection

As with previous singles, the cover art for Yayoi features a photo taken during travels in Japan. My project’s, Latte Chill’s creative process brings together cultural elements and personal experiences. I intend to add my musical “innovation” to craft beats that resonate on multiple levels.

    Where to Listen and Download

I believe Yayoi offers a calming lofi soundtrack for daily life. Available for free download on Bandcamp, so just click on the cover above. Thank you for spinning and keep following to hear more!
