About Chinese Restaurant

Chinese Restaurant chill EP marks the restart of the Latte Chill project. I started working on these beats in the Autumn of 2016. I got a new Novation Launchkey 25 back then and I aimed to return to the music scene in a more active way as a music producer. And less active as a performer.

I had less time and willingness for the latter, but I wished to compose and produce music. As a result, I started learning to use Ableton Live over FL Studio. I had many reasons to do so. First, it was free with Novation product purchases. Secondly, more music producers around me suggested giving it a try. It was weird to drop FL after 5 albums of music though. Not to mention other projects such as T21CB and Dark Cherry.

Regardless, I decided to change another thing as well in music production. Back in the old days, I was pretty bad with beat-making. I felt much better with melodies and ARPs. So to boost my mood, I decided not to fight against something difficult and new but found a workaround instead. I used royalty-free beats. The Internet has quite a couple of them. It boosted my mood way better. I even composed some chill beat releases in this stage of my musical career with sampled beats. Later (from Bebop 2. and Earth albums) I started working on my drumbeats as well.

As for the concept, it was more than 5 years old. I knew I wished to release something that is partially related to the Far East. But also to chill beats and my interest. So well. I spend quite a lot in Chinese Restaurants. It also defined the titles quite a bit.

As for the results. Check it yourself below.

Over the years this paragraph became an evergrowing one. I released more and more setlists and playlists with the songs from the EP.

I use my beats quite often in touch with cherry blossoms, such as Sakura Beat, Sakura Beat 2, and Sakura Beat 3.

Along with that, another set of playlists, where you can listen to these beats are the Home Office ones with:

Some of the misc areas include 13th Anniversary Mix, Lofi Night Mix, Chill Mixtery #3, Café Mix, and most recently: Year of Dragon Mix.
