About Travellers

Travellers is the 20th Latte Chill full album released since 2007. Marking a great number, I wished to release an album that has a special story.

Travellers’ story began somewhere in 2019 when I realized I wished to produce some lo-fi beats that are pretty basic. Basic in a way that would be perfect for walking in the city or enjoying travels. Sensu from Tanabata EP was a great example of what I wished to achieve but as a complete album.

On the other hand, I was also experimenting with more trap-like beats with less focus on melodies. It was a bit like back to the roots and what I did on the Year 2017 album. So I started experimenting with this line with songs from the past 5 years.

And finally, I got stuck with it. Like completely. I mean just a reminder. I started working on this project while I was finishing the Orange album. Ever since (only covering the album releases), I released Stay Home, Wabi-Sabi, Ultra Moon, Ultra Sun and Sapphire albums. I acquired a PO-33 and restarted this project somewhere last year in 2021. I mean I had like 10 cover sketches by then with 3 new songs. Still, somehow I could not see the big picture.

PO-33 offered a fresh start for Travellers

Given my passion for PO-33, I decided to move the project to this instrument with the aim of producing more beats on the go. As further practice, I played several old beats of mine with PO-33. Ending up having even more lo-fi sketches and the project started to become a monster.

So I decided to simplify it the following way. I released 3 lo-fi chill-out singles in December with 3 extra songs. These were not free anymore (1€ though). Each featured the original versions of the songs I composed in 2019 along with the trap beat versions of the old songs. These are Karma Rumba, Latte Art, and Die with Honor (all links below).

Essentially I reworked all these beats with PO-33 instead of Ableton (how the original version was composed) so their “Travellers version” is indeed very much different from the original pieces. I further added 4 extra singles to the roadmap to promote this album. Many of them to promote extra “PO-33 KO versions” of old songs along with some b-side new beats as well.
