Urban Night

About Urban Night

Urban Night -as previously hinted- is the second EP I release in collaboration with Viktor Hegedűs. This time we focus more on the instruments and offer a completely different vibe.

Urban Night, a mellow chill EP

After Up in the Air, an upbeat summer release, as the weather turned cold, we are to release a more laid back EP. Mellow could be the best word describing what to expect from this release.

The release features 4 new songs, all released today. Approximately 15 minutes EP will take you to an urban chill journey. Enjoy it with your earphones plugged walking outside on a rainy November night. Of course feel free to listen to it anytime.

Enjoy the cover: it was taken in Tokyo, 2019. Own photo, enhanced it with on smartphone with the principles of lo-fi photography

Swaying Moment in the Night

The EP starts with Swaying Moment in the Night, one of the first songs we composed as part of the collaboration. The focus is on bass and rhythm guitars, building up a full of reverb lofi beat. The floating vibe continues to go all along the song offering a kind of bittersweet memory vibe. Almost looking back to what happened on a rainy night walking in the city.

Bittersweet Infinity

Recorded in 2020. As the title suggests the vibe is the same as set by the beginning of Urban Night EP. Truth to be told, with all the wind instruments this song is more mellow as a result, more tempting to hit repeat. Give it a spin to enjoy the arpeggios and several wind instruments mixed with the warmth of vinyls.

Balloon

Balloon is the only song with vocals. Viktor decided to sing on this EP as well. Let me share the lyrics below:

I hate the wind, it takes you away
Such a sad, and blue sunny day
I run along, I see you ascend
And I thought I’m your only friend

Over the rooftops,
over the rooftops
(x2)

As you may have heard on Up in the Air, this project will feature time to time sung songs. Similarly to the previous beats we added plenty of reverb to offer that memory vibe. Rhythm guitars have a lot of impact on this song either.

With his Funk on the Bus

Lastly, With his Funk on the Bus. A song that is a bit more upbeat than the first three, yet still composed in minor scale. Main instruments are guitar and bass matching the urban feeling we wished to show you as part of Urban Night.

Summing it up: Urban Night is your choice if you wish to think a bit about the past. Things happened to you and things that gave you some good memories. First two songs will help you slow down, while the last two are to lift you. Use it as a 15 minute chill break on the go.

Don’t forget that this song features my mate. Learn more about Viktor Hegedűs and listen to his songs here.
