2023 was a year marked by a resurgence of creativity and innovation, so in short, I produced quite a few lofi and chill beats. As we are closing the year, it is high time to reflect on this extraordinary year in music. Let me take a journey through the top 10 most listened songs of 2023. Join me and discover the melodies that were clicked the most times in the past 12 months.
Last year’s #2 is taking #10 this year: Boogie-Woogie Feng Shui
A 2022 released beat taking over #9: Soot-o-Polis from Ruby LP. Well done!
To my surprise #8 is a song I have just released in 2023 fall: Blue Crow Waltz.
#7 is last year’s #4, also inspired by Cowboy Bebop, offering space chill beats: Callisto Soul.
#6 on the other hand is an experimental little lofi beat. I composed it with PO-33 KO. Note, that this song was #3 in 2022.
#5 is an oldtimer, that was able to get back to the lofi 2023 YouTube list again: Mahjong Party.
#4 that just missed the top 3: Galileo Hustle.
And now: drumrolls, the top 3. As a result of last year’s listens I can present you with some great beats. Starting with #3, an extraordinary jump from last year’s #43 place: Glitch Man.
#2 also moved up a bit since last year (#5): Weather Institute.
And now let me announce #1. To my biggest surprise, the top position was taken by a cover song. A T21CB song. I worked on this LP in 2021, commemorating the 15th anniversary of my first-ever band. The song was originally released on the Magical Ermine Theatre album. This is Lemo.
