Singles #5

About Singles #5

Singles #5 was originally released in 2020. A lo-fi and chill-out pack of free songs (links below). All beats are fully instrumental. I chose them from different albums I previously released in 2019 and some in 2020.

The list starts off with Zeitgeist Guitarist. The guitar chill EP featuring guest artists was originally released ’19 summer. It gave Singles #5 Beverly Rookie in China, Nostalgic Memories, Rainy Sky and That’s What I Thought. Generally EPs are not getting that much of “single” attention, yet as I collaborated with artists in 5 songs out of 6, I thought this is the best way.

Singles #5 featuring singles of 3 albums

The second release was an album already. In face Leaf Green was also released in the same month (June 2019) as Zeitgeist Guitarist. In terms of songs (or singles) – Leaf Green also nominated 4 songs out of 10. They were: Pewter, Vermilion, Saffron and Cinnabar. In terms of genres, I rather call this album a nature chill or chill-out one. I was focusing less on vinyl warmth and hiss and much more on acoustic elements. For more information, read the story of Leaf Green above.

Coming up next a truly nature chill, almost exotic one: Moon. Similarly to Leaf Green, Moon is also inspired by Pokémon game. I relived a bit my childhood playing along these songs while enjoying the world of Alola and Kanto. Moon features less beats (9) but also nominated 4 singles for Singles #5. I have to add here that I was fully unaware of this. It is quite interesting thing summing it up in this article. With regards to the songs, they are: Koni Koni, Heahea, Malie and Po. Koni Koni is one of my personal favourite from all time. I wish you check it out (and grab it below in case you are interested).

Finally, Orange. Orange is also considered to be a nature chill-out album. And yes. Inspired by Pokémon either. To put it in context: I was playing Leaf Green back then and it has some extra islands by the end of the game. In the game they are called Sevii Islands, whereas in the anime series they are the Orange Islands. So I decided to go with Orange, as I found it better for an album title. Weird enough this LP ended up being more melancholic than expected.

Last single – Faro Solitaro

The last song is called Faro Solitaro. Coming from a latter EP, A Drop of Water. I released that single inspired by an island close to Sardinia. I cover this story in the link above. At the end, I wished to release the song but I was yet to finish the EP behind. This is why I released Faro Solitaro single months before A Drop of Water.
