About The Third Journey
The Third Journey is my third major best of album release summing up the best songs of the past releases.
Now it may look odd but there are tons of concepts and rules behind my major best of releases.
First and foremost: I release best of albums after every 6 albums. I believe composing 6 albums (6 times min. 10 songs) is a lot of effort. It is worth looking back.
Consequently, EPs are not counted, so there are differences between each release.
Best of chill releases
First release was Desired Decade after 10 years of Latte Chill compositions. This album contained 2 version. The electro upbeat Desired Decade I. with 18 songs and melancholic, more chill oriented Desired Decade II. with further 18 songs. As mention, both were released after 6 albums and further 4 EPs. I guess EP was not really an option for me back then.
Further 2 years passed and in 2019 Dozens was released. It marks several differences: while I needed 10 years to work on my first 6 albums, it took me 2 years to get there, when I restarted Latte Chill as a more ambitious hobby.
It is also worth noting that Dozens features 6 albums as explained above… but 17 EPs as an extra. Still having 36 songs total (being split into 3 times 12 albums on stream platforms due to its size).
When I started working on The Third Journey, I realised a couple of things: It took me more time to get to the 6th album (almost 3 years). Yet I “only” released 18 EPs (one is a X-mas one so I did not add songs to a best of). Lastly, the 36 song rule. To be honest my shortlist consisted 50+ songs. But I wished to compile it more. I ended up choosing one song only from each release.
Fun fact: I only realised here, writing this blog, that the previous best ofs had 36 songs. I feel a bit down : ( #jk
