About Year 2009

Year 2009 is a weird title right? Almost suggesting. And yes, you guessed it right. It is my first compilation ever after releasing 3 albums in one year. Year 2009 features my fave chill and experimental beats from Y experimental chill beats album, The Empire chill-out beats album and Dragonic Eve oriental chill-out albums. 18 songs total!

Bit of a deep-dive into Year 2009

Each release nominated several songs to this release. I had more than 25 beats to choose from. On the other hand I wished to grab the ones that had major effect on me.

I also wished to have some featured beats with friends. As I had the chance to co-work with Kyoki on Dragonic Eve, we started to sketch a single with Jigsaw as well for this release.

Finally I believe I need to add some info about me during that time. I mean I had a lot on my plate, I guess it offers you a better understanding. How I was with Latte Chill project? What were my plans?

During this time I felt like I need to take a little break. On one side I was finishing BSc at the university as well as returning to Dark Cherry after Erasmus. While I also wished to bring more and more songs to my solo project. So by that time I was already working on new songs, yet had to slow down to catch up with the rest. At the end I felt like I need to release some kind of a chill-out best of album. Year 2009 therefore served the purpose of closing down a major learning era. Three experimental albums. That made me work on much more.
