  • [Single] Nue

    Nue lofi beat

Nue is one of the beats from the upcoming Demon Festival EP that is coming soon.

    But what does Nue mean?

“In the Tale of Heike, it is described as a Japanese chimera having the head of a monkey, the limbs of a tiger, the body of a Japanese raccoon dog and the front half of a snake for a tail.” – Wikipedia

But in Japan it also refers to the bird, that makes cries at night. This part of the Wiki article that made me choose this song as a title.

To me Nue is a night lofi beat and I kind of liked the word. I mean how it sounds.

To boost this vibe, I gave it a night photo I took actually in Japan. In 2019, we spent 10 days with my wife in Tokyo, shooting tons of photos and videos. This photo features some business men looking for a place to eat dinner after a hard days work back in April. Kind of sums up Tokyo’s night vibe in many areas.

  • [Single] Joss

Joss is the fifth free single of Demon Festival, right before the release of the EP. A minimal and instrumental lofi sketch beat.

Got interested already? Hit play button below. If you like Joss, check the single (and grab it for free) either by clicking on the cover or using the embed player below. Both will redirect you to Latte Chill’s Bandcamp page. You can name your price so it can be 0 as well. Though any support is welcome. Let it be financial one or a simple share on your social media platform.

Joss is another early Koala Sampler produced song. Early? Yes. I was learning how to use Koala Sampler with these songs. These are rather lofi sketches to be honest. My journey to master a great app.

Read more about the application above. I am not affiliated with them, so all notes and reviews are impartial. It is really a great app.

With regards to the video below: I looped a train cap from a great city. Can you guess which one? Yes, it is Tokyo. You can see the Tokyo Skytree for a moment. A great city, a must see I daresay.

  • [Single] Eat My Butterfly

    eat my butterfly

Eat My Butterfly of Chilling Ermines is a collaboration with Jigsaw featuring the lofi hip-hop versions of old T21CB songs.

This song is kind of an ever returning one both for Latte Chill project and T21CB. Why? Simply, because this was the first song ever we composed with fellow band mate Jigsaw.

Enjoy the beat below on YouTube, also don’t forget to click on the cover above to check the full single on T21CB’s Bandcamp page. We feature 2 more songs as well: Fly High demo, which is another dope and old T21CB song and Boogieman‘s demo version.

So, a bit more about Eat My Butterfly. It was originally released back in 2006 and was a pretty easy going beat. Something like this:

Then later on, when Latte Chill project started, I worked on remixes on several albums to learn more about music production. This is how the song was reworked as part of No Past But Future.

But even more: for the anniversary of our first album, Mirakels (that originally and first featured Eat My Butterfly as well), I worked on a chiptune rework. A little EP, titled ReMirakels. Essentially, I remixed T21CB’s first song either, so here is another version of it.
