Moon Festival

About Moon Festival

Moon Festival is the third EP with Viktor featuring 4 new oriental chill vibe beats. All of the songs are inspired by the mood of the Far East. This time he will play on various instruments leaving the guitar a bit behind.

What makes Moon Festival different

As you may have already seen and guessed, we collaborate and release beats in different genres catching different vibes.

Up in the Air was more like a disco or party vibe release around the topic of flying and love. Somehow literally all songs were floating a bit. I mean ‘I’m just a Fly’ and ‘Fly Alone’ followed by ‘Vibrations of Love’ and ‘Struck Down by Satellite’. Well, at least we can say it was in the air before.

Followed by Urban Night, a way different mood EP: electro chill with urban vibe. Almost like walking on a rainy night with city lights everywhere. Bittersweet melodies, laid back tempo.

And here we go with Moon Festival, a Far East lofi EP, inspired by Yuki Kajiura (we both adore as musician) but also fusing some other genres. Let me go deeper below.

Yuki’s Song

I guess I do not need to tell much more about it. It is really a song tributing her career with all respect from our side. If I recall it well, we recorded this song somewhere in 2018. I used the basic setup I used for the production of Tanabata. Dreampop lofi beats fused with wind instruments and tons of reverb offering a meditative and floating vibe.

Sneaking Snake

If you had the chance to chill, that was it for now. We head into a completely other vibe still respecting and adoring the Far East. This time a song inspired by the work of DJ Krush. A breakbeat vibe lofi hip-hop beat.

White Lie

Third beat from Moon Festival is almost like a ghost beat. A pretty mystic one based on lofi hip-hop base. Adding melodic guitars making the song part of the chill genre. A fused genre perfectly matching the EP’s vibe. This time no specific tribute if not ‘White Lie’ as topic – shiroi uso was quite often covered by visual kei bands (such as kagrra,).

Love Binding Soul

Finally a more upbeat (more mid-tempo) song to close the EP. Love Binding Soul is referring to Japan’s respect toward different legends around the soul. I could go quite in-depth, but I do believe the point is to see and feel how vast this topic in general is.

I covered Tanabata up above, also Wabi-Sabi and there’s still more after so many years. Just crazy.
