Stay Home

Why Stay Home?

Covid19 is not fun and although I am quite young (33), I also had some unpleasant weeks during and after the disease. It also taught me to slow down. Not in terms of music but everyday’s life and in literally everything. We tend to run forward with a sense of urgency to solve everything today, now or even better: yesterday. But it will not change anything if you get ill due to rushing all the time.

Stay Home is my 15th chill beats album since 2007 as a solo artist. A slowdown album. A release where I wished to use up my time – as I was bedroom locked for almost 2 weeks. I decided not to binge and waste it but use it wisely and creatively.

Genre: lofi, chill

Chill for Latte Chill. I am aiming to produce more chill beats ever since I restarted my solo music activities as Latte Chill. And lofi, as being home in a room. Well, that is nothing else but lofi. I like this genre, listening to artists all over the world. It was my time to produce my first ever fully lofi album, right? So let’s get started

First, learning to compose fully on lofi. It is easy to say, but needs lots of reading and testing in order to succeed creating a lofi vibe with the modern technology. It was also a challenge because I decided to reach this vibe with free tools, without investing in any lofi VSTs or further gadgets.

As part of the production I learnt to use Serado Sample Lite (given free along with my Launchpad mini) and sampled piano melodies. I added looped TR808 inspired beats and vinylised the sounds and the whole mixing.

In order to add more vintage vibe, I used old, acoustic instruments for a start and kept every song within 5 track lines to maintain authentic minimal lofi chill vibe.

Must add here, that I do know many artist show off on Youtube using 15-50 lines but at the end my ultimate aim was not to create the best song or pack of songs. I was aiming to simplify my working process, going minimal, still sticking to my original chill style the much I could.

What else can I say? I added some vocals to some of the songs and completed it with 12 songs. I hope you enjoy the lofi beats and again – thank you for listening to Latte Chill!

My favourite songs from Stay Home

Bedroom Quarantine
Sunday Morning
Book and Chill
Homemade Coffee

No wonder I started off the album like this I guess. Without deep-diving in these songs (as I cover all of them below), I have to add that these were the very first ones I produced during the creation of Stay Home album. Being a bit new to lofi vibe, my mind was full of questions regarding the results and if I am able to provide songs that meet my expectations. When I finished Bedroom Quarantine, the first one. I felt such urge to work on more beats, that I forgot to sleep.

Enjoy Stay Home lofi album free by clicking on the link above. No ads between the songs, 35 minutes of coffee break for you. It is your perfect choice if you are a lofi enthusiast willing to chill for half an hour or in need of finishing stats for your next presentation or any similar administrative work. If you are a student, choose lofi beats over metal or game OSTs as it helps you focusing on your studies to my point of view. In case you have Youtube paid version, turn off your screen to lower your data and battery consumption or choose Spotify (link above). In case you do not have Spotify, feel free to look for Latte Chill’s Stay Home album on any major audio stream platforms, I do my best over the years to make my music available for you.

About Stay Home songs

Bedroom Quarantine
The first lofi song of Latte Chill and the first song I was able to finish, when I started working on Stay Home project. I used mellow piano samples, chopped up a bit with Serato Sample Lite that was available for free for every Novation instrument owners. I added some bass and TR808 inspired beats to make it more lofi and tested mixing quite a bit.

Sunday Morning
Slowing down. This was my motto during the production of Stay Home and probably the best phrase to describe this song. Give it a listen. It is truly a slowdown moment of Sunday Morning. A moment when you think of nothing else but a coffee, the sunlight and that you do not want to do anything special today. Maybe hitting up your fave book and deep dive in your favourite chapters. What is your favourite book? Mine is definitely Harry Potter.

Just kidding. I do love HP series but no. It is actually The Count of Monte Cristo by Dumas. A story full of politics, history, fights and endless vibe of love. Many reckons it is all about revenge, but please. Take your time and read it. Tell me after that it is about revenge…

Book and Chill
I was just covering the importance of reading a book sunday morning with your fave coffee. And here I go. A song to express this lofi vibe. Book and Chill aimed to express nothing more but the pure joy when I have nothing else to take care of but to find the perfect spot at home where I can read the next chapter of my latest book. Whether it is cappuccino or americano I will choose as a sidekick? I wonder!

Some beats about staying home and illness

Odourless Perfume
Years later I will think back to this title laughing on these days. But when I was in the middle of them… Odourless Perfume refers to my everyday routine of using eau de toilettes, but when I was ill, I couldn’t smell anything. Routine over chaos. I started off my days with it without being able to smell anything. That was quite an interesting phenomenon. I mean I love the morning smell of a coffee or the flowers and nothing. I was not even sure what I was eating time to time even though my eyes had no problems.

Odourless perfume was chosen as one of the lofi singles to boost Stay Home albums awareness. If you like this song, feel free to grab it below.

New Day
One of my first attempts to add vocal chops to a Latte Chill beat. In lofi it is not rare that soft vocals, singing samples are being added to boost lounge mood, especially if you are into lofi chill. I believed it was my time as well to start experimenting with it for the sole purpose to hear the results. I was ready to either delete this song or put it on b-side in case I am not happy with the results but at the end it ended up becoming a single a-side song rocking Stay Home album. As for the video below: let me take you to Tokyo, Asakusa for a morning walk all the way long to Koto district.

Experimenting with lofi in the middle of Stay Home album

Lazy Beat
Lofi with sampled guitar riffs? Why not! A perfect opportunity to work on a song that is to be considered as chill but having a bit more tempo. I was inspired by the riff originally and added some bass and TR808 in Ableton Live Lite to finalize it as a full song. I linked the song below with my fave moments in Yokohama town (part of Tokyo) from 2019. Truly family moment when we walked with my wife along the Yokohama Bay, viewing local people and dogs enjoying spring weather. Rare occasion when we were not rushing to deal with our everyday’s problems but we were enjoying the moments of pure chill.

Old Telephone
Ringtones might be old nowadays when we are to choose our fave hit on our smartphones, but in the old days it was quite common. Lofi + history? Yepp, perfect combo. I chose this sample to create a song that brings us back that memory. What do you think? Did I manage to time travel with you? Check the hedgehog video below and comment to let me know. I am really interested in your opinion.

Back to warm vibes

Homemade Coffee
I had just enough article and Instagram posts on my love for coffee. To me a homemade coffee is part of my everyday routine. It is part of my chill. I start off my morning with opening the fridge, looking for the perfect coffee mix to choose from. Most of them are roasted beans (no grinds, keeping flavour for long). Then comes fresh grinding before filling water in my stovetop coffee maker. Like the Italians. Simple, quick and easy maintenance. Once you turn it on, I will soon smell the flavour of my coffee and I know I can start warming milk for a latte or look for a French Press to finish my cappuccino.

Homemade Coffee is a song set to remind me of this time and I hope it will be your lofi song to make your coffee either.

Melancholy
There is no album without sad beats. It does not really matter if it is a chill album or an upbeat one. My choice was Melancholy. A song that is sadder than the rest. A song for sad nights and not the happy mornings.

Even though I find it difficult to create videos for a song like Melancholy, but my choice was capping some trains in the night in Budapest. Those robust creatures are fascinating during daylight but they feel more alone at night when they are not working.

Autumn Fall
Is it autumn now or fall? I hope you got my little word game in the title. What else to say? I used some vocal chops in this song as well. Though, I usually compose instrumental lofi, time-to-time I experiment a bit adding something new to my songs. This time – actual vocal samples.

Closure with melancholy

Moonlit Window
One more sad songs for Stay Home. Moonlit Window is truly a cry song for the night when you are in that mood. It is mellow and slow with minimal beats.

Good Night
Time to end Stay Home. Good Night is my last piece of lofi song. An instrumental and pretty minimal song that flows in the background perfectly. You might not even notice it ends until you realize it is already silence. Time to time I like composing minimal songs such as Good Night or Sensu (from Tanabata album).

Winter Mix for 2022 is a chill-out and lo-fi beats compilation including many Latte Chill songs from last year. I intended to make it a bit sad, more sad chill than usual. After all it is pretty much the middle of winter.

You are to listen to an hour long background music (maybe some vocal chops, but rarely) with true warmth of lo-fi, vinyl aura and quality chill beats. No ads in-between, hopefully a perfect set matching your mood.

Use it as focus or study music. Hit play button and let it roll. No animations or videos so it does not require huge bandwidth.

Enjoy the moment and see the list of tracks used below. In case you are interested in any of them, check my website below or simply drop a comment.

Best lofi, chill songs and videos from Stay Home album

Choose this playlist if you are interested in my video works. All songs are taken from Stay Home album. I recorded our hedgehog, caps from Budapest, past travels to Tokyo and much more.

I would specially recommend New Day video from the playlist when I was able to record Lucius Couscous (yes, our hedgehog’s name) literally eating his own leg. In reality most likely he was busy chilling and licking the toes to make it clear. It is unusual for hedgehogs but definitely not a unique case. Still, who am I to mock him while chilling this much. I only recorded and added some dope lofi beats.

Bedroom Quarantine is also having another version in this list featuring our dinner in Tokyo from 2019. A great set of sushi in an oriental sushi restaurant as a reward for a day long walk. Check it out and also find my Tokyo Trip playlist on Latte Chill’s Youtube page for more videos.

If you liked Stay Home

Zeitgeist Guitarist guitar chill beats EP by Latte Chill

Check out Zeitgeist Guitarist. A guitar chill beats EP released back in 2020 with two great guitar players. We worked on these songs to offer you true chill vibe with minimal arps and beats. The EP consists 6 songs, out of 5 I worked along with a collaborator. Even though it was more an experimental chill project. I am still in touch with the artist and hoping to release new chill beats in the future.

Earth nature chill beats by Latte Chill

If minimal chill beats meet your flavour, Earth is just the right choice for you. A nature chill beats album I released in 2018 as my tenth album release. This time I decided to heavily rely on acoustic drums and minimal piano over arps and bloops making this album more “close to nature” over my previous ones. 10 songs, 10 moods for you inspired by the sea, the sun and the Earth.

Tanabata dreamy chill beats by Latte Chill

Finally Tanabata is your ideal next choice to go on chilling after Stay Home. Tanabata is one of a kind EP I composed with one Ableton set in one night testing some new instruments. A dreamy oriental chill beats EP inspired by Japanese folk tales. Five songs that are clear and plain due to limitations I set by not using more than five instruments per song. Simplicity & elegance could be the best words to describe this EP.
