    Chill in Zante

Zante, or more commonly know as Zakynthos is a beautiful Greek island I happen to visit with my wife and friends by the end of 2019. Such a lovely place worth writing about, so let me show you some of my experiences during my visit in this article.

You can chill there if you know when

Zante is quite fancy for party fans during the summer, yet when it is over, it becomes peaceful. We visited the island somewhere by the end of October when it was still warm but more quite. Not that we are that old, but at the end if was good to chill a bit. Furthermore the weather is still perfect if you wish to swim or join a ship cruise.

Zante is the island of turtles

Not everyone is aware of it but besides chilling here, you may find some turtles. Generally they prefer the southern cost, so it is worth booking the hotel close by if you are interested in them.

Even though October is not their prime season, still the local guys were able to present us some huge ones. They are lovely animals. I simply loved how peacefully they swam around us enjoying the last bits of summer.

    The sea in Zante

Well, the sea is quite warm and shallow, so it is safe to swim around. As most of the beaches are sandly, it is a bit more difficult to find as lively water life as it is by Sardinia for example.

You can find hermit crabs, starfishes and some (mostly white) fishes if you take your time and bring an action camera with you. If you are not into snorkelling, the southern cost is more your place. Local guys are happy to take you to the turtles (for some money), otherwise the sea is safe. It is perfect for long swims and beers afterwards.

Furthermore you may find little fishes by every shore if you take your time. They are pretty fast swimming around you, looking for some food I guess.

    Navagio

Navagio is a day long trip to the north worth considering if you are in Zante. This one requires a bit of more money, though we paid like 50€ each off-season. That covered the travel, some lunch and a wonderful day. Not too many people were on the ship that also made us feel comfortable.

Now Navagio is a ship wreck on the north stuck in a bay during a storm. Most likely they were smugglers and were trying to hide. Despite their best efforts rather being successful, they ended up being well-known. Millions of tourists travel to this bay every year enjoying both the sea in the bay (with white stones and many fishes) and to shoot a selfie with the wreck.

I even composed a song on my PO-33 KO years later inspired by this bay.

    Goats?

Yes, even goats to join the party if you are choosing a ship as a place to chill. While the southern cost is full of bays for turtles, travelling to the north you will find mountains. They are just perfect for goats! They enjoy both the sunny and hot climate of Greece along with the salted sea breeze constantly blowing gently on the island. Of course Greek people use them as well – after all feta is the best in Greece right?

By the way this photo was shot the same they we travelled to Navagio with the ship. As it took several hours, we had the chance to enjoy different sceneries and take dope photos.

    Finally Zante Town

The capital of Zakynthos. We spent there a day (our last day) as it was away from our place. Our hosts where happy to escort there as well as taking care of our luggage until. Honestly, it worth visiting a day but maybe not for staying too long. The little towns are more friendly and offers a chillful experience. Still let me show you a panorama I shot from the top:

I hope you enjoyed this little article. It is more about the travel that inspires me making more music than the music itself. Yet, I find it interesting to share the places that influences me.

  • [Single] Chill when your mind is full

Chill when your mind is full.jpg(1)

Chill when your mind is full is my latest single from lo-fi album Travellers. Listen to the song below:

Enjoy PO-33 KO beats with true lo-fi aura in this single. I composed this song somewhere in the second half of last year. Chill when your mind is full has an unusually long title, but at the end I was unable to express the vibe in another way. I mean I tend to title my beats shorter. Much shorter. Most of my album titles to get one word only. Yet, I was lost a bit with this song. I was in-fact considering whether I should feature it on Travellers or move it to a b-side song. At the end, I believe the emotion fits the concept. Even, if this beat is not entirely chill-out.

Chill when your mind is full B-side beats

In plural as this single offers 2 extra beats: Big Ben Jazz (Travellers version) and Melody of the Shadow (Travellers version).

As previously covered: I worked on Travellers album for years, as a result I have tons of extra beats pilled up. Big Ben Jazz’s new version was recorded on PO-33 right before X-mas last year. I had my chance practising in my free time ending up playing some old beats as well. Big Ben Jazz is a particular fave one from 2017, essentially I was playing it time to time.

Lastly, Melody of the Shadow. A song that was originally released on Dragonic Eve in 2009. I reworked this song somewhere during the summer break last year. I intended to refresh it within the limitation and possibilities of PO-33 KO.

  • Old Ale

It has been a while since I last had the chance to upload a new wallpaper, so here comes Old Ale. Old Ale was originally released on Sapphire album at the end of 2021. Listen to the beat below and scroll for my story.

    About the anime wallpaper

This photo was taken in Budapest. Somewhere in the 13th district I guess. It was early morning and I had some business to do over there. Therefore I remember walking in the cold morning. It was winter already, yet there were some yellow leaves still. It was really uplifting, yet melancholic. I had just too many beats that may reflect the vibe. After giving it several thoughts I decided to choose Old Ale. This song really-really gives that vibe. Might be misleading as many of you might wish to add some more happy feelings to the picture. But I was not too happy that day. Cannot recall why? Maybe it was winter. Or just too cold and I had to get up early..

    Old Ale – the song

Well, Old Ale was inspired by a Pokémon game I recently replayed in my free time. For more info on this topic, check the link on Sapphire above. If you played the game, you will know which city inspired the beats.

Otherwise I originally composed the beats on Ableton with my Novation Launchkey. Yet, later decided to move the whole album to PO-33, making it much more lo-fi.

Therefore the whole song was restructured and played again on PO-33 KO. Though, I released the original version as single b-side song.

From genre perspective it is oddly melancholic for a lo-fi beat. I know many of the low fidelity fans to expect warm melodies. Somehow I end up composing more songs in minor, offering a melancholic vibe to the listener.
