  • Old Ale

It has been a while since I last had the chance to upload a new wallpaper, so here comes Old Ale. Old Ale was originally released on Sapphire album at the end of 2021. Listen to the beat below and scroll for my story.

    About the anime wallpaper

This photo was taken in Budapest. Somewhere in the 13th district I guess. It was early morning and I had some business to do over there. Therefore I remember walking in the cold morning. It was winter already, yet there were some yellow leaves still. It was really uplifting, yet melancholic. I had just too many beats that may reflect the vibe. After giving it several thoughts I decided to choose Old Ale. This song really-really gives that vibe. Might be misleading as many of you might wish to add some more happy feelings to the picture. But I was not too happy that day. Cannot recall why? Maybe it was winter. Or just too cold and I had to get up early..

    Old Ale – the song

Well, Old Ale was inspired by a Pokémon game I recently replayed in my free time. For more info on this topic, check the link on Sapphire above. If you played the game, you will know which city inspired the beats.

Otherwise I originally composed the beats on Ableton with my Novation Launchkey. Yet, later decided to move the whole album to PO-33, making it much more lo-fi.

Therefore the whole song was restructured and played again on PO-33 KO. Though, I released the original version as single b-side song.

From genre perspective it is oddly melancholic for a lo-fi beat. I know many of the low fidelity fans to expect warm melodies. Somehow I end up composing more songs in minor, offering a melancholic vibe to the listener.

  • [Single] Kamikaze

Kamikaze is my latest single from Wabi-Sabi Extended album. It is a short, less than 2 minute beat. I was experimenting with different rhythms on a chillful weekend and I ended up producing some beats for you. Kamikaze is probably my fave among the 5 beats produced.

Fun fact: 4 of the beats are part of Wabi-Sabi Extended, whereas the last one turned out to be less chill. It is the b-side song on this single.

Kamikaze was welcome well: on the first day 2 Spotify playlists immediately put the song on their list. Blimey, I did not even had the chance to release my video or upload the single. Personally, I find it great. I guess generally Wabi-Sabi album is pretty much able to offer such vinyl warmth vibe that has been sought by many. I can promise to produce more lo-fi beats in the future similar to this set of songs.

About Kamikaze b-side song: Fierce Duel

As mentioned above, besides Kamikaze there is a more faster beat featured on the lo-fi release. The song is called Fierce Duel. As the name suggests it is more a dark song. I gave the title because in my head this song is about two samurais. They are facing each other and it rains heavily. I can’t tell who is going to win, but it is quite sure that this battle will be fierce. Probably that vibe was too far from Wabi-Sabi, so I removed the beat from the extended version as well. Still, if you are interested, head to the single’s page to download or listen to it below:

By the way as we are at this topic I can drop some notes on Kamikaze’s story as well. To me it is more remembering to them in perspective the time passed. So I do not wish to express any political opinion, whatsoever with the song. For me it is only a moment of looking up at the sky and remembering them. This is why this lo-fi song has much more chill than many of the songs even on Wabi-Sabi Extended album.

  • Beats with most videos 1-5

The best videos. The top5. Here we come! I shall now present you the top songs from my YouTube channel with the most videos. I hope you will enjoy this little article with 5 chill-out and lo-fi songs with creative (?) videos by Latte Chill

    5) Blackthorn – 7 videos

Vienna chill with lo-fi street photography, sunshine and walk. Really a perfect mood for the video. Blackthorn was inspired by Soul Silver game. All songs are 8-bit, chiptune ones with arpeggios and sampled notes. I used GameBoy and GameBoy Advance to achieve this sound.

    4) Sensu – 7 videos

Sensu is a dream chill-out, instrumental beat I composed as part of Tanabata EP. Funny thing that I composed the whole chill-out EP on one night. Making the bond between the songs much closer. They are really conveying the same feeling and message. Hopefully. Give it a spin!

As for the video, it is the start of a great journey. The Tokyo Trip in 2019. What can I say? Tokyo is really Tokyo. I made bunch of videos there. I hope you will have the time check some. It is really a place people should travel. Honestly.

    3) Endless Silence – 7 videos

Now this was a surprise to me. I mean it is my chill-out beat. But kinda. I never really tracked the songs I am using before. I am cautious not to use a song in a playlist too many times. Especially in trip playlists. But it was a surprise to see this nature chill beat in the top 3.

I chose an underwater video from Sardinia. It really shows the true vibe of the song. It is a nature chill-out song on one hand and a “floaty” on the other. I mean I might have overused reverb a bit, but it really gives me the vibe that I am floating, while listening to the song.

    2) Azalea – 7 videos

Inspired by the one and only Ueno Nezu Shrine. For several reasons I found this place unforgettable while we were in Tokyo. First, it is full of azaleas. And all were blooming back then. Secondly, we did not know about the place. It was not part of our quite in-depth plans. More like we bumped into it during a free time walk with my wife. Third, most likely other tourists were unaware of this place as well. Only local people were chill by this place. And lastly, just wow. Check the video and you will see what I mean. Such harmony, such peace. A lovely place!

    1) Midnight Melody – 8 videos

I rarely do noir as I am not confident in this genre. Although I love taking photos of Budapest in black and white, it is rare that I create a video out of them. This one is a rare example of me doing so. Latte Chill travelling the city, black and white edition. As for Midnight Melody. Well, it marks the return of Latte Chill in 2016. I guess it is no wonder I had the most videos with this song.

I hope you enjoyed this article. Follow for more and keep listening to lo-fi until then.
