  • Beats with most videos 6-10

Getting closer to the top videos. This time featuring from 10 to 6. Latte Chill lo-fi songs with the most videos uploaded to my Youtube channel. I will also share my fave videos – 1 per each title.

    10) Rising Sun – 7 videos

If you believed I would add some videos from Tokyo to this oriental chill beat as fave video. Well… no. Mr. Toka, our first hedgehog, bless him, was the master of baths. He really-really enjoyed walking around. This video was taken with an old waterproof camera, so you can see his little legs under the surface swimming.

    9) Cerulean – 7 videos

Matching the colour, let us dive under the surface together and explore the sea life of Sardinia. We travelled there in 2019 and enjoyed the Italian lifestyle for a week in Portoscuso. I shared a complete playlist on my Youtube channel but I only wish to highlight this video in the post. I got a Xiaomi Mijia 4K Action Camera from my wife and started learning how to use it here. Therefore had some mistakes, but generally tried to show you the chill of the sea. Sardinia’s underwater life is just marvellous. It is perfect to record chill-out videos as well as to enjoy the moment.

    8) Olivine – 7 videos

Here comes Vienna. Street photography, lo-fi photos and some videos from the city centre of Vienna. It is one of my fave cities. A beauty on the heart of Europe. The song is a chiptune chill-out beat inspired by Soul Silver game.

    7) Asteroid Blues – 7 videos

Mr Toka again. He was really eager to look around if we let him out. Look at him running along the corridor checking our shoes. He was some crazy little pet hedgehog. Asteroid Blues was the perfect space ambient chill beat for this video. Originally the song was inspired by the first episode of Cowboy Bebop with the same title. An interesting episode, that was also reworked as part of the live action series.

    6) Goldenrod – 7 videos

Roppongi night chill-out in Tokyo. Walking in Tokyo is a must for everyone who visits the city. Honestly, one the of most interesting places ever. I wish to return sometimes later in my life. I added some beats inspired by Goldenrod City of Soul Silver game to boost vibe. 8-bit chiptune just goes well with arpeggio based chill beats.

  • Beats with most videos 11-15

After having a few videos on my channel, I wished to create a bit of overview about the lo-fi and chill-out songs owning the most videos. I plan to add my fave ones for each song. So let’s see the list.

    15) Bedouin Coffee – 6 videos

Bedouin Coffee is one of my favourite nature chill-out beats I have ever released. It was the first beat I composed for Earth album in 2018. And my fave video is the one when I used Instagram filters to make some coffee~

    14) Odori – 6 videos

This one was though. Odori is a great mix of oriental chill beats and dream chill. I originally released it on Tanabata EP. The speciality of this chill-out EP is that all 5 songs have the same rack (pack of instruments and effects). And all songs were composed on the same night. My fave video is a compilation of Asakusa night life photos and videos. We travelled to Tokyo with my wife in 2019. I created literally tons of videos on this topic, if you are interested, click here.

    13) Stray Dog Strut – 6 videos

Stray Dog Strut is an early beat from 2017 featured on Bebop I. This space chill EP’s all songs are inspired by the famous Cowboy Bebop anime. I watched an episode and composed a beat. I had this project like a year long until I finished all the 24 eps. What a journey. My fave video was taken pretty recently in 2021 in Lefkada by the island of Ithaca.

    12) Sunny Sunday – 7 videos

Sunny Sunday is a free single released on 2017 on Year 2017 album. As mentioned previously Latte Chill project was restarted in this year. I challenged myself to put together a beat every month. This song was released in February as the second song. I use it as a travel chill beat quite often. For my fave video the battle was quite fierce here. I had some shots with a bathing hedgehog, our first pet. But at the end number #1 is going for my city walk video of Szeged, my hometown

    11) Cherrygrove – 7 videos

Cherrygrove is a chill but chiptune beat from the improvisation album Soul Silver. This unique album was released in 2018 right after Earth album. It was heavily inspired by an old game with the same title. A joy of replaying my childhood’s video games made me produce some beats. This one was also recorded live and contains tons of improvisations. Besides that as mention it is not regular chill with warm, lo-fi tones but chiptune. I sampled old GameBoys to get the sound I looked for. As for the videos. I had quite an issue with them as I have tons of beautiful Tokyo videos for most of my chiptune beats. Still Vienna came out as number one.

I hope you enjoyed this post, more to come (10-6 and top5).

  • Lo-fi Photography

Lo-fi Photography refers to unconventional way of creating photos to offer the impression of lower quality according to Wikipedia. While this sounds weird, the point is not to make crap photos. On the other hand, it is to create an imperfect but warm vibe. To offer the “good old days” vibe that is often missed on the latest ultra-edgy photos where the focus is more on perfect aesthetics with high contrast.

    Elements of Lo-fi Photography

Grain – often used and loved by lo-fi photographers. Even if it was shot on a smartphone, where algorithms are to remove it. There are bunch of free apps like Snapseed or Lightroom helping you achieving this goal.

Less contrast and saturation. Colours are less vivid in case of lo-fi photography. Along with grain the whole image is more pastel, less vivid. Like old colour photos at home.

This element is extremely useful if you are into street photography. In 2019 I had the chance to visit Tokyo for 9 days. I spent almost all days out on the streets shooting with my cameras. After that I processed them on my smartphone at home.

Colours are bit more warm over realistic. Even though this element is not always used but often preferred in case of travel and café photos. I also prefer using it along with sea related photos I do by the shore or while swimming. Sunny day also boost mood and the warm vibe of the photo.

Lastly, square shape. Even though it is not a mandatory. It really reminds us to early photos as well as the Polaroid era.

    Tools to use

Well, truth to be told the most authentic tools would be toy cameras and pinhole cameras. This, however, requires a bit of knowledge. Other solution would be the use of film cameras. There are bunch of influencers on Youtube using film cameras to shoot people out there. I prefer Chris Chu‘s channel for instance, who also offers tons of videos on showing what he does and how. You can learn a lot by following him, but again, there are other great artists on Youtube.

Finally, if you are a beggar like me. I would suggest to invest in a great smartphone let it be Samsung or Apple or any Chinese Android Devices. The point is to have a proper camera. Now this is not measured in pixels. Spend time on checking some reviews on blogs any Youtube to find which one matches your taste. Grab some apps like the ones mentioned above. And shot tons of photos to have a pool to choose from.
