    Chillhop and Lofi edits from 10 albums

    It probably shows the diversity of the Latte Chill project. After all the results came from Youtube yearly stats. Still, 10 releases had songs in the top 20. Because all Latte Chill release has some dope beats worth checking.

    For this particular set you as my faithful audience nominated songs from Memories of the Untold album, which was quite a surprise. This album is more than 11 years old now. Still, Pancake Song seems to rock in case you are looking for a happy vibe upbeat song. Wabi-Sabi on the other hand is a new one just released this year. My first full album was produced on PO33. Read more about this perfect pocket lofi instrument here. This year’s early EP with 808 beats also nominated some songs. So please enjoy Memories on the roaster.

    This year was sadly about diseases worldwide. As you may know, I was also infected in 2020 by the end of the year. I spent 10 days in home quarantine inspiring me to work on a full album. I ended up releasing Stay Home by the end of 2020. The warmth of lofi edits is boosted with 808 and some scratches or vocal chops. The magical recipe of a new line. This album nominated several songs to the ’21 YouTube Top 20.

    Inspiration for album production

    We all get inspired by the world around us. I guess on the other hand our past motivates us for a better good. This is my case with old retro Game Boy games. Here comes Leaf Green inspired by Pokémon from the ’00s. The very same game series inspired me to produce the Moon album. But this album is more nature chill over lofi edits. Both albums nominated great songs for the 2021 YouTube Top 20.

    Another type of inspiration is coming from movies. I was over the top when I heard about the live-action series of Cowboy Bebop. And feeling down since due to its sudden cancellation by Netflix. Cowboy Bebop inspired me so much to compose songs based on each episode. Ending up releasing 5 EPs and LPs already between 2018 and 2019. The good news is that many of the songs were nominated to 2021’s YouTube Top 20. Some came from Bebop IV., while Bebop 2 Demo album also features a song. Maybe too early to announce, but I wish to work on further space chillhop beats inspired by the live-action series. I mean Cowboy Bebop is Cowboy Bebop. I wish to add more beats to my roaster in 2022.

    Stock Stories also offered some beats for this year’s Top 20. I wonder whether the weird stock boops and blips of PO33 were the source. Or simply the titling.

    Lastly, the Demon Festival is worth mentioning. A lofi edit EP fully composed on a smartphone with the Koala Sampler app.

    About For a Better Day mix

    After releasing Sad moments chill beats, I wished to work on the other side as well. First let us be sad – then let’s soothe our mind with more happy beats. Warm texture, lo-fi vibe. I intend to offer these moments to you in a nearly thirty minute long chill beats. I composed some songs on PO-33 KO, others on Koala Sampler. As a results this mix is truly a chill mix. These songs were composed not in front of a PC but on the go.

    I hope you find this mix ideal as a chill music to listen to while doing homework or simply for gaming. A 2021 freshly mixed bunch of beats. Most of them are instrumental, but I chopped some vocals in New Day as a change. Luckily this is the last song, so if you are not into lofi with vocals, please skip the last track.

  • [Single] Hokulani

    Hokulani is the last single from Ultra Sun album. Check them all below:

    Generally Ultra Sun singles ended up being more sad even though the album offers a great mix a beats. At least to my point of view. To support this, I decided to end the list of singles with Hokulani. This lo-fi beat is rather upbeat. More a lofi house song than a chill one. I wished to show that Ultra Sun offers some surprises to the listener and it is worth giving a spin.

    The cover photo features the mountains of Lefkada, Nidri town. There’s a beautiful waterfall close to the city. But it takes an hour of walk time to get there. During that time, you can shoot such scenery if you brought your camera. As Ultra Sun is inspired by the island of the Mediterranean sea. I guess it is not a surprise that I used photos like this.

    To be honest I am not 100% sure but it is possible that Hokulani was composed in Lefkada as well. It was one of the travels I brought my PO-33 with me. I used it during the nights to jam. And many of those sketches became part of my releases.
