  • Birthday Beats: A Look Back at My #34 B-Day Chill Set

Birthdays are a time for celebration, reflection, and sometimes… workdays! That’s how my 34 B-day set was born. As I had to work, I decided to channel my free time and energy into something positive: creating a chill lofi mix.

This love for creating playlists, which I call “birthday chill sets,” has become a bit of a tradition. These mixes are less about a specific theme and more about capturing a vibe and personal memories associated with the music. So, let’s dive deeper into the inspiration behind the #34 B-Day Chill Set!

Tracks and Inspiration: A Blend of Memories for #34 B-day Set

The beauty of creating lofi mixes is the ability to weave together different inspirations. For the #34 B-Day Chill Set, I incorporated a variety of tracks that reflected both the introspective mood of staying home and some positive memories.

Nature Escapes: Tracks like Snowy Scene from Memories and Faro Solitaro evoke a sense of tranquility and connection with nature, a feeling I craved while stuck indoors.

Nostalgic Remixes: The birthday mix wouldn’t be complete without a touch of nostalgia. Including lofi remixes from video games like Melemele Sea from Pokemon-inspired Ultra Moon brought back happy memories.

Genre Exploration: This mix also showcases the versatility of chill beats. Stray Cats’ Waltz is a cover song with a lofi twist, while Budapest Gallop injects some urban vibes.

Ultimately, the #34 B-Day Chill Set is a snapshot of a specific moment in time, capturing a mix of emotions with the unifying thread of calming lofi aesthetics.

Beyond Live Performance: Crafting a Focused Chill Mix

While my previous birthday mix involved live DJing with my equipment, the #34 B-Day Chill Set was a pre-recorded creation. This shift was due to working on my birthday (hey, the bills don’t pay themselves!), but it also allowed me to focus on crafting a more cohesive, nearly 30-minute mix ideal for studying or relaxing.

    Future of B-Day Chill Mixes

I guess more to come. I mean nothing is set – I cannot predict the amount of time I have during my birthdays but I really-really enjoy mixing chill beats. Naturally, I will do my best to produce more sets for you.

  • [Single] Aether House

    Aether House single cover

Aether House is not available as free single. It is my first release from Ultra Sun album. An album dedicated to Ultra Moon and Ultra Sun games, inspired by Pokémon’s fictional Alola region and some dope PO-33 KO effects with true lofi vibe.

Aether House is a slow, bit sad chill-out song. It features acoustic instrument samples and beats offering a natural vibe for the listeners. The song was indeed inspired by the famous Pokémon games. The reason for releasing both Moon and Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is due to the fact that I played both. I thought it deserves more beats. I plan on releasing more Pokémon game beats.

Important note however, that they are inspired by the games but I am not sampling the original songs. I respect the copyright law.

On the other hand playing the game and being inspired by their marvellous places is OK. So I produce beats based on Alola. I love nature related games and to be honest this story is very good.

As for the cover, if I recall it well, I took it in Madeira. It is a little island, part of Portugal. We travelled there a couple of years before.
